So kid costumes are my thing. I LOVE putting together costumes usually from a favorite movie or book. This year, Remington won a bear bonnet so naturally I had to do my three favorite bears from books. First up is Paddington. The kids actually kept getting the names Paddington and Remington confused before he was born and then wanted to name him Remington Paddington. But that felt like a kind of long name. This costume is so easy. Bear bonnet (or red hat), blue toggle coat with a tag that says “please look after this bear”, a jar of marmalade, and some red boots!
I can’t wait to share our other two bears! And some big kid costumes next week! Any guesses?!?

Love this boy. Remington loves mommy, his dog, and Nellie’s hair. Is very undecided about food. Does not like when mommy “leaves” him (like to the other room) and when dogs lick him. Vacuuming is his favorite chore followed closely by sorting laundry.
Had to take photos with his dog.
When someone asks you for a family photo and you realize you don’t have one with your now six-month-old, you go take a couple.
Just some no big deal, not trying to make it perfect, yet perfectly us, photos.
I used my Canon app on my phone to remotely take these photos. It was a little tricky to keep my phone out of the photos but so much easier (and natural looking) to not have to use the timer and run back and forth!
This may be my new most favorite photo.
Love this little family of mine. And hopefully it won’t be another six months plus before we take photos again.
I can’t believe we are half way to 1! This boy is the cutest thing ever. He loves to touch his toes, play with toys and put his lips tight together. And we tried sweet potatoes for the first time today.
Now the first birthday party planning can officially start!
Bear bonnet: Briar Handmade
Onesie: Milo’s Corner
Nellie just turned 5! Which is crazy. I love that I have a summer baby and a winter baby because party planning is my favorite (I already have Remington’s 1st birthday planned, and did before he was born!). Because we just moved, we just had a small family picnic at the beach. But there was enough food to feed A LOT of people.
Something that drives me crazy is the party trend to have cake and donuts and candy and cookies and cake pops all at one party. Are we trying to get sick?!? But I like the variety and Nellie is a huge snack fan. It’s her favorite “meal” so that was her birthday dinner.
In case you can’t tell: raspberries, pineapple with salsa inside, crackers, Nutella, chocolate covered raisins, almonds, strawberries, cookies, grapes, pineapple, hazelnuts, blueberries. And pretzels! Not pictured are tortilla chips and a pasta salad.
And here is my five-year-old.
Remington at five months. I’m so glad I bought this basket for him. He has hardly slept in it but it makes for the best photos.
Overalls: Haven Kids
He celebrated his four month birthday in Canada! Did amazing at his first wedding, despite the lack of naps, and is still the cutest, happiest boy I know.
first photos from the day turned four months the second two from when we came home to his basket and Hazel Village friend. Side note, we adore his Hazel Village chipmunk and you can save 20% here.

Remington Locke at 3 months.
Easter is just a couple weeks away! Gifts are definitely a love language of mine and while I try to be more minimalist I still love to do a little something each Easter. First, I do not buy cheap things that won’t last and second I like to find things they might need.
Here are my kid’s baskets and a few other ideas for both babies and older kids.
Remington’s Easter basket:
1. A book, “You Belong Here”
3. Sippy cup lid for mason jars, or a bottle top, also the jar cover.
4. Wooden animals.
5. Soft rattle, or this one.
7. Wooden toy, or this one.
Nellie’s Easter basket:
1. Nature journal. Adding a pack of colored pencils too.
2. Nail polish. Kid friendly!
4. Swim suit. Also love this one.
5. Jelly shoes.
Jaxon’s Easter basket:
1. Night light.
3. Nature journal.
4. Whale print.
5. Nature tee. Also this one.
Meet Remington Locke Harvey!
Born March 6th at 2:31 am. He was our smallest baby at 6 lbs 4 oz and 18.5 inches long.
Born 3 weeks early, my water broke in the middle of the night, so our other two kids had to come to the hospital with us. Grandma was on her way but had a six hour drive and neither of my other two labors were that long. Because it was flu season and there have been a small measles outbreak in our area, they wouldn’t let the kids come into the delivery room. Anthony finally got them to let the kids come back (and so he could too) but they had to wear little face masks. It was cute but a kind of stressful start, thinking I’d have to do this all by myself. After a fairly short (but still not fun) labor (too short to get someone to give me an epidural like I wanted!) Remington was born while the kids watched videos on their kindles. And after only about 16 hours at the hospital we were on our way home! It was nice to get to “sleep” in our own bed. It has been almost four weeks now with our little guy and he loves to sleep, especially while being held, and gets very mad about being woken up, diaper changes, and baths. Basically he likes to be warm and cuddly.
We are all very much in love with our little Remington Locke.
